“I mean this as constructive criticism. I’m truly not venting. I thoroughly enjoyed this show for two months (two seasons were available). It was nice to listen to two fellow late-20’s women have smart and fun discussions about modern culture. For that reason I ignored some statements that I found rude or dismissive. Other reviewers have mentioned “catty” and judgy behavior. I generally agree. A moment that stood out was a very confident claim that it’s a privilege to be a stay at home parent. This is important; Everyone’s life is different and some stay home because they need to and, for them, working would be a privilege. So I found this statement really dismissive and harmful. My final straw was the chatgpt ep. Hannah said she “hates science nerds” in a fairly sincere and non hyperbolic tone. She clarifies, “I don’t hate ALL of you”, which honestly I think makes it sound all the more sincere. Every group has a-holes and I get the people she’s talking about. But the broad generalization was unnecessary and gross. I like both Hannah and Maia enough to give feedback. Maybe consider editing out or talking through your offhand comments about entire communities. This science nerd (who was raised by one working and one stay at home parent, and I assure you we were poor) has enough to deal with.”
