Be mindful/selective of your guests
I enjoy the podcast but the episode with Violet Benson lacked substance. She controlled the whole conversation and Kamie was barely able to communicate or ask questions. The conversation about the green card lottery exuded privilege, I enjoyed that Kamie mentioned Jamaicans probably don’t have that same opportunity. If only POC could change their last name to avoid discrimination but unfortunately we can’t change our skin colour as easily as one can change their name. The cherry on top was the concluding remarks, “say goodbye in Patois”. I don’t like what Benson stands for politically and I am disappointed this was a choice of guest during an active ethnic cleansing, which this particular guest has openly supported. Be mindful of the guests you choose to uplift on your platform.
