“I want to let you know how helpful your podcasts are to me as an early childhood educator. My primary work takes place in a preschool setting, and I find the RIE philosophy very much in line with my goals and and expectations as a teacher of young children. Additionally, I love using your podcasts as a resource for the parent education aspect of my work. Very often when a child is struggling with issues at school (impulsivity, an exaggerated need for control, ongoing difficulty with separation...) I wonder how these things are playing out at home. Unsurprisingly, the challenges at school can often be linked to parental struggles at home around confidence with limit setting, accepting uncomfortable feelings, and remaining respectful and connected through stressful situations. I have found that your podcasts provide a great way for parents to gain a sense of mastery over the tone and feel of how “unruffled” really sounds. They also provide access to a healthy perspective on what is age appropriate behavior for preschoolers, as well as what are reasonable expectations for parents to have of themselves. Rather than handing parents a stack of books to read, which can be daunting for already strained families, your podcasts provide a highly digestable way to take on a new perspective. Plus they are addictive - can’t listen to just one! Thank you for your important work.”
