Chip Klose does a terrific job of covering a range of marketing and strategy challenges with an awareness of the characteristics of the restaurant environment. There are few categories in which consumers make a “product” selection with the frequency with which we tackle the daily question of “what shall we do for dinner,” and that - along with the reality that it is a category in which many of us want ongoing variety and discovery, rather than loyalty - lays out marketing opportunities and expectations that are unique to this business. Skillful as both a commentator and interviewer, Chip covers a range of both the evergreen (Positioning) and timely (COVID) topics that will benefit anyone with an interest in this fascinating industry.
