“Listening to your episode about the AT&T Data breach. You said that you really weren’t mad at AT&T. But have we ever really stopped and asked ourselves why AT&T needed your Social Security number in the first place? They really don’t! We need to be more mindful in asking why a companies selling us a cell phone/plan needs our SSN’s. They don’t need it. If we don’t pay, they shut off our phones. It’s that simple.
Companies like AT&T shouldn’t be allowed to collect so much info from us that it can destroy our lives if they don’t protect our info.”
