“I've been listening to this podcast since they replayed Secret Of Evermore back in early 2011. I loved that game, they however had a different vie, and it bugged me, but I liked what they had to say. Since then they have matured into one of the most anticipated podcasts on my list.
It was never the 'game-of-the-moment' that intrigued me, it was the hosts personalities. Derek and Don bounce off each other like two grumpy old men that have perfected the rant (and I love it), yet still manage to communicate what it feels like to play a retro RPG like a naive kid with a craving for xp.
Don't let their rants fool you - they're entertaining, funny, and charismatic. After a while you'll be looking forward to their off-topic podcasts as much as their games playthroughs.
If you remember the 16-bit era of gaming as fondly as these guys then you'll get on like a house on fire. No fanboys here, only grumpy old gamers with a retro score to settle.”
