A superb production and dignified coverage of a very difficult subject
I learned of this story from an interview between Dan Duane and the founders of the Florida Surf Film Festival. I listened to it while on vacation on pre/post surf session walks in San Diego, Laguna Beach, and Los Angeles. Finished the last episode walking the beach here on Orchid Island. As a lifelong surfer, I’ve always had a respectful concern for sharks in the lineup. I’ve been bumped and brushed, but never bitten. I cannot imagine the terror or the trauma experienced by those who have and survived. Dan does a fantastic job of giving his interview subjects the space and respect to tell their stories. I can’t say that I would venture into the waters of Reunion Island, but I will definitely travel there someday.

This show is so well done. It’s thorough and the host is very compassionate and easy to listen to. It’s well balanced and allows the listener to consider all factors without pushing a particular agenda or slant. I find myself being sympathetic to everyone especially the sharks.

Great narration. Scary topic. Wonderful escape to an island I knew nothing about. Thanks so much for this.
