Listen now
Description
We sit down with Sarah Perkins, a wildlife biologist at Cardiff University with a passion for stand up paddle boarding. Sarah is a keen SUP racer, SUP surfer and windsurfer and tells us how she combines her love for the water with her scientific research. One of the coolest aspects of Sarah's work is how she utilizes her stand up paddle board as her floating laboratory during her research expeditions. She explains how paddling allows her to access remote areas and observe wildlife up close. It doesn’t end there! Sarah also tells us about her competitive streak. She recently took home some medals at the ICF World Championships and in the National SUP Surfing Competition. Hear about the thrills of competing on an international stage and her plans for the future.
