Crankies beware ... this show is great!
I just finished the two Beatles episodes devoted to the group’s inside rivalries and am gobsmacked by the crazy amount of detailed music history that must be floating around in the show’s hosts’s brains. I mean, who randomly remembers—off the top of one’s head—the year Bob Dylan played his last live performance before he joined George Harrison in Bangladesh for one of rock’s most pivotal and memorable concerts? This example may seem trivial on my part, but a podcast filled wall-to-wall with that kind of knowledge is impressive. Of course, musical tastes are subjective, but hosts Steven and Jordan are kind to each other when opinions clash. No yelling or putting each other down to make a point; it’s refreshing to hear. I feel as though I’m hanging out, listening in on a fun conversation between two friends who truly love every aspect of music. It’s not enough to know a ton of facts about the subject; it’s the hosts’s passion for music history that has me sold on this podcast. I’ve read some cranky reviews about this show, and I don’t get it. No matter, though, I’m still all in with these guys, who manage each week to put out a fun and interesting podcast about one of my favorite topics. Thanks, guys!
