“I listen with a headset or with the phone close to my ear and the volume disparity between Roy’s mike level and callers varies widely and is very irritating to be having to turn up the phone volume only to be blasted when Roy responds.
It’s as if the operator/producer just hits the button to put the phone on air then walks away from the control room to have a slurp of coffee and expects the levels to look after themselves.
At the very least there are audio level normalization programs that will fix up that problem if the board operator will not.
Mr. Green does excellent well prepared interviews and asks probing questions which seem to be avoided by other A/V sources especially the CBC.
Worthy of excellent mention is Jody Vance who is very good on-air as a sometimes fill in for Roy.
Keep up the good work on content Roy I would have given a 5 out of 5 had it not been so consistently irritating on a technical basis and I hope that issue is rectified at it’s source.
