Where is the accountability?
I’ve followed JMC for years and enjoy so much of his teaching, but why is JMC supporting John Ortberg without any explanation? Bethany introduced Ortberg as the former pastor of Menlo Church, but didn’t disclose that he resigned because of some absolutely horrible pastoral decisions that put people’s children at risk of sexual abuse. Why does JMC trust him and why weren’t we told why we should trust Ortberg? The lack of transparency before Ortberg was introduced is the exact opposite of practicing the way.

As well as those of us who were raised in traditions that are much more focused on what “not” to do. The disciplines are a gift that “fills the house” and enables us to have so much more to pour out. Are they going to complete the series? None have come out during 2024:/
