Could be a great story, hard for me to pay attention
I think it’s particularly hard for me to hear a host switch between interacting genuinely (during interviews) and reading a script Siri might as well be reading. The host could be reading a weather report or an article on Syrian refugees and she’d have the same tone. Exact same intonations and pause patterns….so monotonous. The host is suited for bedtime storytelling. That said, it’s a personal thing - I don’t like listening to crime junkie for the same reason and that’s a top podcast. Also - it’s pretty clear a chunk of 5 star reviews left are fake so someone has to counter act those.

More reviews of Run, Bambi, Run
The podcaster, Vanessa is doing an ok job telling this story, however, it’s pretty biased. Also, the fact the she pronounces words such as hitting or kitten as “hidding” or “kidden” is really difficult to listen to.

I recommend listening to ‘Run, Bambi, Run.’ It’s a fascinating, tragic case and the podcast is well done! It’s more than likely that tunnel vision occurred on behalf of the Police, and Laurie Bembenek is innocent.

It gets going in episode 3 when she starts talking about the drugs and disco and then it's really good after that. The narrator's voice is only OK but I like the way she is inquisitive in the interviews.Read full review »
