““Australia if you’re listening” is a brilliant program that spells out how thoroughly our politicians are not up to their jobs. They have no excuse - Donald Horne warned of the crisis we now face in The Lucky Country - published in 1964. Both sides of politics are too scared to be visionary and decent - pretending that coal mining jobs are safe into the future while the world abandons the coal they mine. Instead of a smooth transition into sustainable industries, those workers will lose work and their towns will wither. In the meantime, the world fries. Our politicians are short-sighted, spineless, inadequate fools. My only criticism of this podcast is the background music - it’s unnecessary and distracting. If you must have it, please play it at a lower volume - don’t make it an overbearing and annoying feature of the podcast.”
