“Good information on very interesting subjects and the speakers are obviously knowledgeable and passionate.
However, they routinely dip into unprofessional and mocking behavior of other people educated in the field over even minor disagreements in theories or ideals.
Nate particularly is incredibly condescending and rude. Not only does he constantly bully the conversation and interrupt his co-speakers but on several occasions is beyond unprofessional to other researchers, including calling them an “idiot” and at one point even joking about someone wanting to choke them. All over a, in the grand scheme of things, trivial manner. Generally his co-speakers don’t exhibit this sort of behavior.
The level of knowledge here is high but it’s just to the point where they believe they know it all and can mock and condescend other people. Nobody likes that sort of attitude and it detracts from a wonderful presentation and subject field.
I really like this podcast overall but do find myself either toning it out or turning it off when the pretentious chatter gets going.
I recommend it but with the caveat that you may have to work through some of the “the young know it all” mentality while listening.”

It can get dry, but that's just History in general, right? Sometimes I forget myself and think it's a recap of a TV show or a fantasy novel, but no, this is real!
