“I am usually really into investigative series podcasts like these but I found it real hard to get through this one. The narration seemed like a fifties sin city film noir and the sound design just seemed overkill for what was a long drawn out trial and diplomatic soap opera process.
I would also have liked to hear people mention the respective race and nationality of the hostages where it mattered. They simply mentioned “a thin man” and followed it with an English name to infer he was white whereas the guard was “Chinese”.”
