“I get it. Ads help pay for the show. But if I’m able to skip past them, there’s no need to be so “cute” with them; there’s no need to put so much effort into creating characters in your ads. Just tell me who’s sponsored it, 15 seconds max, and move on.
I won’t get on the voice acting. They did what they were directed to do. I’m getting on the creative vision overall of this show. Not one character seemed engaging or interesting, our protagonist especially. I was expecting a bigger twist or a serious backfire from using Sandra. What we got was a big pile of “...meh.”
I love Gimlet. I suppose because of their usual excellence, my expectations were set pretty high. However, those expectations didn’t come anywhere close to being met.”
