Could be better with…
The one story about Ashley and Doug and the ballet company is interesting BUT not a scam as much as a marriage fail turned deadly. Also, as has been said, the back and forth between the hosts feels forced and scripted. I listen to a lot of podcasts so that dynamic between hosts can make or break a podcast bc there’s only so much you can put up with as a listener to stay engaged with the story. Other podcasts that do this dynamic well are “Sounds like a cult” and “Maintenance Phase.” You can tell in these other pod casts that the hosts like each other a lot, have important things to say, and are well read so it’s not scripted (they are talking about things they have a lot of background in so that’s the key). I think if these hosts focus on legit scams (ones that haven’t been covered multiple times already) and that they have a natural interest/knowledge in, this podcast has a lot of potential. The main host has a nice voice and is a good storyteller.

Idk what the person was listening to that left the “too many likes and whatever’s” review because these episodes are obviously written out and scripted. Some narrators can pull off a scripted show that sounds natural, but unfortunately this one doesn’t work. While their voices are strong and...Read full review »
