“Michael is nearly always very clear in his thinking and solid in his logic. I would give him five stars if not for his strawmanning “conservatives” at every opportunity. Much like Sam Harris’ full-blown anti-Trumpism, he demonizes conservatives at every turn. It’s verging on gratuitous. I am not a conservative, and I don’t consider myself a Trump supporter either. However, I can see that his policies were categorically better than the alternative. Not all conservatives are Sean Hannitys.
Some examples: Michael seems to know more about Qanon than ANY conservative I know. He cites some survey that purports to say that one third of conservatives believe in some aspect of this Qanon. My guess is that it’s the part about pedophilia, or at least that ties to the likes of Jeffery Epstein run high among influential people who are tightly linked to the Clintons, et al. This is highly likely and we all know it.
He recently has pointed out that the nuclear family is somewhat of a recent invention. While that may be true, the results of upbringing in that sort of family structure, within the modern post-industrial society, and even agrarian society, are far better for individuals and society than any other model. This holds particularly strongly against the sainted single mother (fatherless) structure, which we mistakenly have done everything we can do to de-stigmatize, and perhaps even incentivize. We certainly have removed as many disincentives as we could, to everyone’s detriment. Besides, hasn’t Michael completely fell into a heaping pile of the Naturalistic Fallacy when he attempts to delegitimize the nuclear family.
But the biggest complaint I have is how he assumes this self righteous tone when he puts words into the conservatives mouths, when he seldom if ever does that to the other side. Come on! The shrill nonsense coming from the left these days is so ripe for the picking when it comes to teeing up for logical destruction.”
