217. A bridge too far.
I have always appreciated the fact that Michael doesn’t declare a political ideology. But this episode is disgusting in its allowance of a clearly racist Christian self-victimized right wing propagandist looking for a return to the good old days who makes a career out of supporting anti social justice causes. Shame on her and shame on Michael. The bend here is so obvious its ridiculous. I’m an educated amateur historian and business owner. Very very shameful. I could barely stomach this episode. She claims others are propagandists while spewing unfounded ideas about equality coming from slave owning presidents. Excuse making for racist ideology and unfounded “scientific” thoughts literally claiming Jefferson was a “better slave owner than most” which makes him an ok guy. Sad really.

Show is ok. The host moralizes and justifies many presumptions that lead to dangerous conclusions. This is a modern look into the real time disconnection of academia and reality.

This is the best podcast I have ever heard I have been a Podcast listener for over three years and he cannot be beat. Michael Shermer is so articulate and well read and intelligent as are his guests on his program. If you want to join the intelligentsia this is a great place to start
