A really big scifi trope, as big as clones or intelligent robots, body snatching has been steadily ingrained in classic scifi mythos and has been used in almost every long running scifi show I can think of! From Stargate SG-1 to Falling Skies, people being replaced by robots, puppets, aliens, clones, has become a BIG component that has been utilized to a great extent by the genre.

Who are you? Not who have you become, what you do because of someone or something else, but who are you in your metaphorical bones? The Empire of the Hand, the Eriadu Authority, and the Zero Command are all cool, minor factions of the Warlord Era that ultimately were all absorbed into the Imperial Remnant. It is interesting that none of the factions are outright DESTROYED, they all get reincorporated in one form or another into a reforged, reinvigorated military power.

One of the New Republic's greatest opponents of the era, Warlord Zsinj was a classic, mustache twirling villain. His war of espionage, economic and biowarfare, and terrorism against the New Republic all made him and his Empire a chief obstacle that desperately needed to be overcome.

The largest faction to emerge from the splintering of the First Galactic Empire and arguably THE most important faction of all the old Star Wars expanded universe, the Imperial Remnant was GREAT!

One of the less significant, but still integral factions of the old expanded universe, the Greater Maldrood (aside from having such a silly name) was still a major player in the Warlord Era for two central reasons: they had a massive amount of territory with an important trade route and they had Gilad Pellaeon as their military commander.

I am an enormous fan of the work given to the annals of time by Howard Phillips Lovecraft and his subsequent literary followers.
