The Beliefs that Scott Kiloby teaches keep people stuck and serve his interests
In the beginning, the tools Scott teaches in his KI membership for getting out of emotional repression are great and bring people, including myself, lots of relief. However, the beliefs that Scott then conditions people to believe about how people’s emotional repression is the cause to ALL of their suffering and if they would just go deep enough they then will be out of all suffering/be liberated is absolute nonsense. These beliefs just keep people stuck on a treadmill, they keep people year after year community after they are out of emotional repression for years and years endlessly processing emotions, spending money, buying programs where Scott (and his cronies Dan and Toshi) only have the true answers for you to get “free.”. Getting out of emotional repression is fantastic and their are lots of modalities to do this including ISTDP—however spending years and years of doing “deep emotional work” in order to get “free” is total B.S. and just serves Scott’s pocketbook and ego. Other spiritual teachers talk about getting out of mind identification and seeing through the separate self but Scott is self proclaimed as the one who has figured out has found the true answer to lasting peace and freedom it is doing deep emotional processing ad nauseam (year after year) even after a person is skilled with being aware and feeling all their emotions. I am so glad I got out of the membership and the cult like atmosphere to continue my spiritual and emotional path. RecentlyI have done work on seeing through the separate self and I continue to do emotional work as things come up and don’t endlessly dig into my psyche and I have really made a shift. I am so glad I am out of the KI membership, just wish I didn’t waste so much time there. Scott’s beliefs are dangerous and his membership is cult like and keeps people stuck.
