Description
Welcome to Scottish At Heart. I’m your host Alison Fraser. My name tells you I have Scottish ancestry but I don’t have the accent to match.  I’ve lived all over, from my early beginnings as an army brat living on UK army bases through to emigrating to New Zealand in my 20s. But for me Scotland is home. I’m a writer, a beginner bagpiper and a fan of the Outlander books and TV show. I’ve been learning Gaelic and I drink Irn Bru. I couldn’t be any more Scottish if I tried, if only I had the accent. This podcast will be about people like me, those who have a Scottish connection but don’t necessarily live in Scotland, it will also be about the people who have made Scotland their home and embraced their inner Scot. We’ll discuss what being Scottish means, and learn how we can connect to our Scottish ancestry without leaving home. You can expect to hear from me each week. I’ll share what I’m learning, what you’re discovering and how we nurture our Scottishness for the generations to come. I started this podcast because like millions of others like me, Scotland is where my roots are and even though I’m not there now it is part of me and always will be. I hope you learn something, strengthen your connections, get further into your roots. Now grab a dram, it’s time for Scottish At Heart. acebook.com/scottishatheartpodcast
