Extraordinary Resource
I have heard a number of podcasts by ‘aspiring’ screenwriters that are interesting to a point. Unfortunately these writers usually pivot their careers to gastronomic hospitality or stop producing podcasts as soon as they sell their first script for a local auto dealer commercial or phone menu (Presumably too busy with the big time). This podcast is nothing like that. This podcast is terrific. John and Craig are the real deal. If you look online for screenwriting advice, you will not find such a perfect balance of concise, relevant and consistent advice from working screenwriters with this kind of credibility anywhere else. They have both sold (and continue to sell) feature screenplays, television shows and A-list screenwriting services to major studios and networks, yet they still take time to offer advice, insight and direct feedback on a regular basis. (I really appreciate your generosity here guys. Thank you!) John and Craig don’t always agree, but their disagreements spark thoughtful conversations. Their personalities are a refreshing balance too. If you want positive encouragement and support with your advice, John’s there for you. If your writing needs a kick in the butt and a bowl of broccoli, Craig’s your man. If you want interesting, thoughtful and helpful discussions about writing while you are on a (short!) break from your writing, subscribe and listen!

If you are interested in screenwriting, hit the download button already. The information here is invaluable. Also, I'm usually put off by a lot of off-topic banter but am competely charmed John August and Craig Mazin.Read full review »

I'm a craft person working in the film biz. Craig's comments about being exploited are dead on!! And, while no one wants to say it, and no one comes to the aid of people working 'below the line' in the craft business. Craig Mazin puts it out there.. Let me buy you a beer, Sir!Read full review »
