On this episode, we consider whether the priest is properly understood as the extraordinary minister of the sacrament of penance. What is the nature of an extraordinary minister of a sacrament in the first place? We also consider these questions in light of ecclesiological questions, as well as the place of the sacrament of penance in the life of the Church.
