Openly owning that I’m non-monogamous and sex-positive can feel scary because our monogamous culture has created a negative narrative about people who choose not to prescribe to the normative way to love and care for others.
Owning that I’m non-monogamous and sex-positive has removed the barriers blocking the creation of my love; now, I can love everything within me and extend it outward to everyone and everything.
I’m proud that I chose to allow myself to love, especially since I had more barriers put in place due to how our society portrays those living with HIV.
