The verses that we just read are actually speaking of God’s true workers. So, the appropriate way to interpret today’s Scripture passage is to read it as a dialogue between the Lord and God’s workers. It’s written in today’s passage of Scripture that God’s saints and workers alike are the objects of His love. The Bible says that in God’s sight, His workers are “the roses of Sharon and the lilies of the valleys.” This means that even though God’s workers endure hardship in their lives for the sake of His work, the gospel is preached even more on account of their self-sacrifice.
