168: Invictus Games Champion Dave Henson on Prince Harry, Being a Wounded Warrior
Listen now
Description
The story of Dave Henson is fascinating, and even though he KNOWS Prince Harry, he didn't tell any of the secrets about the Prince of Wales.  He is a former soldier in the British Army, where he stood on a hidden IED. Henson had his right leg amputated above the knee and his left leg amputated through the knee.  But with prosthetic limbs, he went from being an amazing solider to an amazing athlete. In 2012 he was selected to be captain of the British team in the inaugural Invictus Games. He entered three events, the sitting volleyball and the 100m and 200m ambulant IT2 sprints, winning gold in the 200m. He joined the show from Sydney, Australia, home of the 2018 Invictus Games presented by Jaguar Land Rover.   Here the emotional, heartwarming story, that is also a funny story about how he met his wife.
