Description
My guest for this episode is the Tour Player Greg Chalmers. Greg is a longtime player on many tours across the globe including PGA tour, Korn Ferry Tour and the Australasian Tour. Having won on the PGA tour and won his home open, the Australian PGA , twice he is no stranger to success.
As usual we start with some advice for the club golfer and there is some quality perspectives in here from Greg. We talk about Greg's upcoming bid for Champions Tour golf and how he is staying fit in body to help get ready for the challenge and how looking at the fitness side of things might be a necessity for not even to change your swing inn the future but even for it to remain the same.
We discuss Greg's view on the common things holding club golfers back from improving their games and a look at the traits he sees in the great putters that maybe we could look to implement.
Greg make some great points on practicing and using your time in a more efficient manner and then illustrates some great examples and ideas for that player who perhaps gets a bit anxious on the course to relax and remove some of that anxiety.
Moving on to the coaches’ section we chat about Greg's playing experience and how he views his playing history as an advantage or a disadvantage as he delves into the coaching realm,
We talk about some of his own experiences moving into the coaching world like where he has encountered some challenges and discuss how he tries to help players the most by looking for the area that will have the most benefit with change, as opposed to that aesthetic change.
The last subject we discuss in this podcast is probably the most important one. Some years ago, Greg and Nicole's son Max was diagnosed with Autism. After realizing how expensive all of the treatments were for their son, they knew many families wouldn’t be able to afford them. They wanted to do their part to help and had a vision for a charity that would raise funds for other families going through the process, create an outreach for parents to get advice, help or even just to chat and help the children going through the same journey as Max. We all are tested in life by various challenges but those who encounter challenges and difficulties and then use that experience to embrace helping others is truly special……..
This podcast, chat, interview was one of the most enjoyable to date as Greg is truly one of the nicest people I have encountered. It’s a free-flowing honest chat with an incredibly talented golfer and an equally humble human…. If you root for one player on the champions tour this season ..
