Vintage Radio
I really enjoy listening to these Sherlock Holmes stories. Some great actors from different eras - the best for me being Rathbone and Bruce. The original Conan Doyle stories are the best - but the episodes invented for the various series of shows can be entertaining too. These are old programmes - some over 70 years old. They aren’t going to be perfect and that’s part of the vintage experience. The pace and style is different to today (as one would expect). Some reviews have complained about ads. Most of these ads were broadcast with the programme, way back when originally aired. These don’t annoy me - quite charming social history in their own way (although I’m not a fan the more recent ads). But you can easily skip ahead if you can’t bear them. Please don’t write off these radio shows just for the advertisements.

The audio is terrible!!!! I love a good detective story, but I can't hear a word you people say!! Are you paying people to write good reviews for you???? A complete waste of my time. Read full review »

This podcast’s title and feed seem a little off, somehow Boston Blackie is currently Gregory Hood, and was previously Sherlock Holmes. But I can’t seriously complain because these episodes are good quality.
