Why does this exist?
I was 8 minutes in to this podcast when I decided to leave my one-star review. Before traveling to a foreign land you should research it. Not just Google searches, but learn about the history, culture, people and art. Morocco is a beautiful country filled with passionate, interesting people. They have a long history that includes strong ties with the Jewish people. I traveled to Morocco alone in 2018 (I’m a woman) and the only uncomfortable thing I experienced was the airline losing my suitcase for a couple of days. The people were kind and warm, the food was heavy and delicious, and my life was forever changed. The author should maybe stay at a sandals resort in Cabo next time?

I enjoyed listening to this and bought his book. Side note: the relentless pressure Matthew describes reminds me of how women feel when they tell a man “no” in America.

It seems a bit insensitive to laugh at these accounts of the authors amusing and unbelievable experiences in Morocco, but I’m guessing humor is the only thing that him through them. I highly recommend this podcast and the book, too!
