“Carl has such a great understanding of historical and modern day China. He is able to convey his knowledge very clearly to many Westerners without a real barrier. The episodes on the history of Taiwan, the so-called “Republic of China”, are absolutely incredible and help guide through such an immensely complex piece of world history.
His discussions on Xinjiang as well should not be ignored. Most of the one-star reviews come down to people that supported the CIA-backed Hong Kong protests or those that are enraged by reports of Xinjiang that directly conflict with the genocidal fear mongering of Adrian Zenz, the VoC, the Buzzfeed “news” piece showing plain buildings or the Thai BDSM club videos being passed off as torture.
Hats off Carl. Truly a voice every westerner should be listening to for good coverage about China.”
