“I wanted a warm easy listen to accompany me while I cooked, and fittingly, Nigella Lawson popped into my head. I searched to see if any interviews with her were available in podcast form and found Simple Pleasures. It was exactly what I was looking for. Nopi is my favourite restaurant so I knew I’d enjoy hearing Ottolenghi’s recipes described, but what was even better was the ease of conversation between him and Nigella. They’re obviously great friends and spoke so thoughtfully and intelligently about food. I also really loved how respectful and engaged with Nigella’s opinions Ottolenghi was - the opposite of the stereotype of the egotistical macho chef. Absolute pleasure to listen to - I just hope they join forces on a cooking programme together! Now to binge on the rest of the series...”
