“Hi Julia, Thankyou for covering the domestic violence topic; it is so needed and more widespread than people realise. I wanted to share some news however. A single mother I know of recently committed suicide. She had 2 children who are teenagers; she was living with her parents cause she didn’t have much money and she had been divorced for around 10 years. She was a lovely girl, came from a good family, was a traditional person and always appeared to be managing well & certainly not into drugs or anything. Unfortunately I did not know her well & I now regret not taking the time to get to know her & to see if she had friends or whether she even knew about this podcast. She was someone who fell through the cracks & it’s a tragedy. I don’t know if she saw a psychologist or ever reached out for help, but I know that your podcast will help those who don’t reach out. I feel so so sorry for this poor lady & I have realised how important it is to reach out and offer help even if it’s not asked for & to make the effort to contact others. I’m going to start by seeking out single mothers in my area and telling them about your podcast. Thankyou once again for all the hope & inspiration of this podcast.”
