We discuss topics such as choosing a sperm donor or a co-parent, discussing pregnancy plans with your family and friends, and how to navigate societal stigmas around single parenthood.Finding the right support system - Pregnancy and birth can be a vulnerable and emotional time, and it is essential to have a strong support system in place. We talk about how to find support through friends, family, or support groups, and how to choose a doula or midwife to support you throughout your pregnancy and birth.Navigating healthcare providers - It is crucial to have a healthcare provider that supports your pregnancy and birth goals. We talk about how to find the right obstetrician or midwife, how to communicate your needs, and how to advocate for yourself during medical appointments. Creating a birth plan - Creating a birth plan is an important part of preparing for birth, and it can be even more critical when you are doing it alone. We discuss what a birth plan is, how to create one, and what to include in it. Additionally, we can cover how to communicate your birth plan to your healthcare provider and your birth support team.Navigating postpartum - After birth, there are unique challenges that single parents may face. We discuss topics such as managing breastfeeding or formula feeding, and how to create a support system for the postpartum period.
