Leave the bottom bracket height alone please!!
Just rented a Trek Fuel EX (size XL, 27.5s w 2.8 rubbers) while my bike was getting shocks rebuilt. Bike plowed through everything and gripped and climbed like a charm. But I had at least 10-15 pedal strikes per ride which is a major safety concern. I too have had some of my worst crashes due to pedal strikes and for this reason I will not move to lower and slacker willingly. The industry will be doing everyone east of the Rocky Mountains a disservice by going the lower BB route. Hopefully the pendulum will moderate at some point in the near future. Otherwise we will all be riding pushbikes like my 3 year old neighbor across the street - who needs pedals anyway?

More reviews of Singletracks Mountain Bike Podcast
I’ve only listen to two episodes so far one with Jim Weir and the other with James Wilson; between the two of them they’ve been so profound they are causing me to rethink a lot of the things I do on my mountain bike. Great stuff!

Always look forward to each weeks episode and can usually dedicate a full days commute in the car to it. A great escape for days when I can't hit the trail!Read full review »
