More personal narrative than a review.
It would be fair to say that Socrates has provided consistently, some of the best, most useful and most insightful content through his podcast for someone like myself. That line alone does not mean much, I understand. So, let me add some context to it, for those who may want some more. I live in a back alley town in India. I have the opportunity through my work to look at systems of life in even more remote and nondescript places. I spend a considerable amount of time in these settings observing how people interact with their surroundings. I devote almost all the remaining time to reflection and thinking about how I can build better processes for rural communities in various dimensions to help suit their needs and help them truly progress. It also means unfortunately, that I am a bit cut off because of limitations on electricity and internet. S/1-1 gives me the unique opportunity to understand and project things on a larger time scale and a little further into the future than I would through my own speculations and rationalisations. It has helped my understand the value of technology as a tool to disrupt positively. For laymen, like myself, S/1-1 helps me connect my thoughts to some important ideas that can assist us in building (or at the bare minimum, thinking about) a better world for the people around us and the people after us. I like to think that the kind of quality content that I am able to expose myself to through this podcast helps me do my job better. I truly feel that it helps peel the scale off the eyes of people like myself, a little bit each day, while helping me realise, that the limits to our work are truly only internal. So, if I shall ever truly claim to create something of true usefulness, I would think of this podcast fondly as input that helped me do that, along the way and attribute praise duly. Thank you and I hope you continue your highly useful work! -------- In a totally removed view however the following can be said at the very least, in my mind. This is a great source of some very interesting things to think about. It has the potential to help people visualise the future, evaluate it and think about how they can build a better tomorrow through their own contributions.
