On a bonus episode of “Sippin Tea with Joey & Marie,” we had the honor of having the real Thomas Valles who was one of the teens that was portrayed in the Disney movie "McFarland, USA.” He was the number one runner for the 1987 State Championship Cross Country team for McFarland that made history. We talk about real life vs fiction in the movie, his hardships growing up, family and the similarities Joey & he share. But most of all the inspiration that has come from his story.
