“Since the breaking up of the original, and the best, team, Rowan Dean is the only one who is at the initial cultural, intellectual and journalistic level. James is good but with the inevitable limitations of his background. But Rita! A combination of pedestrian journalism, superficiality and self-opinionated arrogance. And then came Daisy! How refreshing with her sharp observations, analyses and knowledge of the matters she discusses. And a sense of humour with good sense of the ridiculous presented in a warm, cheerful and yet, firm and even when necessary, cutting manner.
Every time we are told “Rita is back next week”, my family are horrified as we will not watch/listen to the show with her on. And what joy and relief when we discover that Daisy is on. Please, keep Daisy and find Rita something else to do.
On another topic. For the last 2-3 weeks, the podcast arrives late on Monday and at least the last one was cut short.
I give 5 stars because of Rowan, the spirit and history of the programme, Daisy and a bit for James. Rita is not considered in the marking.”
