“I am in abuse survivor who supports Cardinal Pell. I entertained the possibility of his guilt, until as Andrew Bolt did, I looked at the evidence!
I have no explicit memory of my abuse. My only memory is of me trying to initiate sexual contact with the abuser, who was a family member six years older than me. A number of counsellors had asked me if I was sexually abused. When I asked that question within my family, this family member owned up to the incidents. I was five he was 11. To his credit, he told me the circumstances of the abuse, and subsequently attended a therapy session with me.
As a 61-year-old I still have regular dissociative episodes: Fantasy like experiences, a breakdown of memory formation and timelines. I now know that dissociation and memory formation can be affected by more than just trauma. Brain injury, presence of toxins, gut and hormone issues, can affect the way the brain processes information and forms memory. Toxin tests showed I have a high level of numerous toxins. As I undertake long-term detox protocols disssociation is reducing.
I realise now that numerous times in my life I thought I had very explicit memory, that was largely incorrect.
I believe that long ago the media realised that images of Cardinal Pell, could be perceived negatively by the general populous, due to his bulk, black attire and high intelligence, which can come across as a haughty manner. I wonder if culturally this imagery looks too much like Darth Vader, and that this has affected perceptions of him.
By the way I do not identify as either Catholic or Christian.
Keep up the bold , incisive commentary!”
