Leave politics to the politics gabfest
The gabfest was out of its depth in having Lydia Polgreen on the podcast to talk about campus protests. As per usual they reinforce rather than challenge guests which might be ok for a fictional tv show but not on a highly divisive issue with a journalist who ignores the violent messaging of student leaders in her columns.

So the podcast is down to 2 episodes per month due to budget cutbacks at Slate. And the best Slate podcast, Hit Parade, is now completely behind the paywall. It didn't have to be this way. As fun as it is to listen to 3 highly educated white people’s nerdy banter, I can’t help but think it might FINALLY be time, in the year TWO THOUSAND TWENTY ONE to allow someone who isn’t white to have a permanent voice on this show.
