I have no idea why the journalists at slate were so hesitant to actually emphasize and explain the fact that the protagonists of this story were literal white supremacists. there was no nuance with regards to the family’s insane values and that was exceptionally disappointing. they were way too sympathetic toward a family that advocated for white nationalism. centrism for the sake of centrism helps no one.
