“I am a true crime junkie. Since adolescence, I have consumed, countless true crime novels, audiobooks, podcasts, documentaries, episodic, television shows, etc. as far as True Crime podcasts go I enjoy longform multi episode formats, single episode cases, one host, multiple host having a discussion, you name it. Slaycation is the perfect multiple host tongue in cheek format. It’s hysterically funny at times. The ad lib interactions, interruptions puns, jokes, are perfect. I love Kim’s voice and especially her infectious laugh and her indiscriminate and well timed use of the F word. Cl-host Jerry, who is often tolerable, those who know, know what I mean, is the very funny voice of reason and empathy. Adam aka Tex learns about the case, in real time with the listener and ads very colorful often hysterically funny commentary. I find myself rewinding frequently just to hear the jokes over again from all three of these people. For example, in the Greek episode when Gerry mentioned that his husband says that he is often confidently incorrect., I split a gut. later when Adam said snickering “…but her name is Skully!” I laughed so hard three drops of pee came out. If you just want the sterile and somber facts of a case, this show is not for you. But if you enjoy self deprecation, sarcasm, and other, tomfoolery, look no further. So pack your body bags, don a Depends, and be prepared to be shocked, educated, and entertained. I love it so much I pay for it. They have solidly earned my support!
