Keep it sleazy
SLEAZOIDS is one of the only cool movie podcasts. Josh is the brains and Jamie is the heart, giving us their weekly thoughts on genre flicks from a hyper intellectual and a primal emotional perspective. Josh always delivers on these really granular insights into film photography and visual storytelling techniques great directors employ, noting the way that they’re able to manipulate our eyes. Even the nastiest, grimiest zero-budget fare is plumbed for that hint of genius you can find just about anywhere if you really look. Every single episode Jamie has an idea about the way that sound and music is used in a film that blows me away. It’s film shows like this one that really prove that craftspeople work their asses off making movies, and that means there’s almost always something valuable to be found in a movie, even if it’s deemed “disreputable” by prudish critics. The guests range from soft spoken film critics and academics to delightfully unhinged horror superfans. SLEAZOIDS is the type of pod that makes you wish you had more friends to talk about movies like this. Great stuff from two good old Ontarya boys.

Great banter. Talk about a wide variety of sleaze and bring on interesting and informative guests. Listen and enjoy! The theme music is also funky as hell!

From the great classics to the obscure curiosities, the boys are willing to dive deep, usually tackling two sleazy slimey dirt bags at a time. Even if...Read full review »
