Sleerickets
Tuning into ‘Sleerickets’ with Matthew Smith is like hanging out with your favorite professor at your favorite off campus bar. Matthew has such a refreshingly direct and unpretentious take on poetry, art writing and all things intractable about life. With whip-smart wit snd insight he manages to maneuver through the arcane world of poetry often by meandering down various seemingly unrelated alleyways of interest ranging from ancient mythology, psychology and philosophy to movies, pop music and comics. Sleerickets can be raw and irreverent yet somehow remains endearing, especially with his guest interviews With any luck each week I can always count on Matthew Smith and Sleerickets to keep me on my mental toes. Matthew’s podcast is only getting better. He continually touches on a wide range of topics that intersect poetry in thought provoking ways, and his interviews of an array of provocative individuals never disappoint.
