Episode with Robert Glover Misguided and Possibly Harmful
I’ve enjoyed listening to a couple of previous podcasts on this show, but the Robert Glover (part 1) episode was really disappointing. The conversation is full of inaccurate and possibly harmful generalisations, including that women don’t know what they want so men should give what women actually want (as if men would somehow know better), that women want men to provide emotional tension regardless of if its positive or negative, and that women want men to be able to protect them and lead them, and don’t want to have power themselves. Nothing was backed up by any research and seemed to be just one person’s theory maybe just based on a couple of his own relationships - really harmful to be broadcasting these inaccurate and generalised messages. Men doing self work to be able to feel comfortable to be genuine and authentic is a worthy conversation, but this episode really missed the mark.
