“This is the first podcast. I’ve ever listened to that only allows paying customers to listen to the final episodes of a series after leading them through all its prior episodes.
I thought this was going to be a podcast. I’d listen to all seasons of. Started with the Watergate season because it had personal meaning for me. Night after night I listen to the unfolding episodes until the final two or three were only ads for the real episodes, which I could only listen to if I paid. It’s one thing to force listeners to consume too many ads, but this choice by Slate is entirely unacceptable practice. What is wrong with you Slate? Just so low. Yuck. I wonder if all your podcasts are like this? I won’t know because I am not going to risk wasting my time with any after this.”
