“In an endless sea of “snarky white guy” movie podcasts, this show is refreshing. Fun and flirty, the hosts are the married couple you want to hang around with. Their chemistry is genuine and palpable, and the conversations are always fun. The audio quality is excellent as well.
Recently, they read a review on the air, criticizing them for getting sidetracked so often, but the tangents are what I appreciate about So I Married a Movie Geek. Movies are supposed to be fun! I like that the show is relatable and conversational, and not snooty or overtly cynical.
Plus, I’m totally dialed into Justin’s playful frustration with Krissy’s narcoleptic tendencies. I also enjoy the shout-outs to the audience.
Being a #PodernFamily participant myself, I always think it’s really cool hearing those other shows referred to, as if we’re all in a shared Cinematic Universe together.
So, if you want to hear deep, philosophical dissections of movie plots or snobby trash talk, maybe look for a different movie podcast. But if you’re looking for new friends to hear talk about your favorite movies, grab a sangria (or your favorite adult refreshment) and subscribe to So I Married a Movie Geek!
