“I just want to thank the people who make this available. No matter where I am (in the world or in my head), I can plug myself into a speaker meeting and hear someone’s experience, strength, and hope. I’m 17 months sober myself and recently did my first one hour speaking engagement at my home group in Las Vegas, NV. I was able to listen to some amazing speakers leading up to that day thanks to SoberCast, and it helped me immensely. My 12-step fellowship has given me a life I could’ve never imagined. My story isn’t unique. OD’s, homelessness, a life of crime, 8 years in prison, hepatitis C, the guilt and shame associated with being a dead beat Dad....Like so many before me, and many of those still out there living it, I was one of those guys who took it pretty far down the line. But my story is now one of recovery, unity, and service. Those three things have been the foundation of this new life. Today I am healthy and happy with a roof over my head. I practice honesty and obey most laws (I struggle with speed limits). Despite my criminal record, I have an amazing job thanks to the fellowship. Instead of hepatitis C I am hepatitis free! And though the relationship with my son isn’t perfect....it is improving. And today I’m okay with that.
If you want what we have and are willing to go to any lengths to get it, then you are ready to take certain steps. What are you waiting for!! Get to work!!
