So many expressions we use today are linked to boating and sailing.   Like man overboard, walk the plank and scuttle the ship. This would be where the crew intentionally undermined the captain to sink the ship.   Speaking in metaphors can create a lively conversation until I read a post that, in so many words, said it’s okay to start poaching other stylists in salons and to normalize this.
