A veritable feast of video game music!
As a fan of ABC Classical’s ‘The Games Show,’ I’ve always wanted a podcast like this - a musical deep-dive into the world of video game tunes, from people who clearly relish the opportunity to do so. ‘Sound of Play’ offers an eclectic mix of videogame tunes, as well as episodes themed around a particular series, or just a general mood - I absolutely love the ‘Relaxing’ video game music shows. Every now and then, the show releases these ‘Year in Videogame Music’ montage episodes, where hundreds of games from a particular year are blended together in incredible hours-long remix. The level of care and effort put into this podcast often blows my mind. In addition to the music played, I really enjoy the introductions, explanations, and banter that the hosts and commentators provide around each song - it gives me a fuller appreciation for music that I’ve not necessarily familiar with, as the host’s enthusiasm is hard to ignore. Love the show, and would heartily recommend!

I just picked this up recently but after hearing two episodes I downloaded the older ones to check out later. As well as Cane and Rinse, it really helps this gamer unwind.
